Pastor Joseph and his family come to us from Georgia. Joseph came to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ while serving in the military. After being honorably discharged he was baptized and became heavily involved in serving in a local church of the PCA, Presbyterian Church in America. Joseph attended Covenant College, the denominational college of the PCA, receiving a BA with majors in History as well as in Biblical and Theological studies. Upon graduating he entered the corporate world for about five years in order to gain valuable life experience prior to entering vocational ministry. During this time he enrolled as a student at RTS, Reformed Theological Seminary. After leaving the corporate world Joseph worked at the PCA denominational offices with CDM, the Committee on Discipleship Ministries, working to help supply relevant materials to churches through the PCA’s Bookstore. Upon completion of his seminary coursework Joseph worked at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Atlanta for nearly two years while being mentored by the church’s senior pastor. He has experience in multi-cultural churches, youth ministry, and Christian education. Joseph loves studying God’s Word, preaching from it, and shepherding those that the Lord has placed in his care. He focuses on a ministry centered on the Ordinary Means of Grace (God’s Word, Prayer, and the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper) in the context of relational fellowship.
Joseph, his wife Caitlin, and their two children moved to Live Oak in early 2016 to accept the call he was extended from Community Presbyterian Church. He is grateful for the call on his life from the Lord to not only be a Christian, but to also get to care for God’s people as the pastor of our church.
